iPhone battery: This will be a function of your phone and the type of usage. Newer phones will usually have better battery life. We will be using power saving capabilities as much as possible so, if your are on a recreational ride with relatively few cars approaching from the rear, you will get a longer life than when you are commuting to and from work in traffic thanks to our battery saving software.

The camera has twist off connectors so you can just twist off and put it in your pocket. You can use third-party phone mounts, and almost all of these have a quick disconnect feature.

The first thing that you should do is advise a friend or a loved one that Cyclesight has a recording in case you are not able to recover the recording yourself. The recording is on an SD chip and is removable.

There are products that record but don’t have any way to tell you that there is rear-approaching traffic. And, there are products that give you feedback that there is rear-approaching traffic, but they don’t record. Cyclesight is the only product that provides a real-time visual image of rear-approaching traffic and provides a recording.

Cyclesight can be installed on most standard bicycles, but we can’t guarantee every type. There are many third-party phone mounts available - choose one that works for you. We have shims that allow the camera clamp to adjust to most bike seat posts. If you have a seat post that isn’t round, then the adapters might not fit. We encourage all feedback and offer a money back guarantee on any item that doesn’t fit your bike properly.

There is no way around the fact that the image on your phone will vibrate causing the image to vibrate also. However, the image will still be readable.

I was riding on a rural road with minimal traffic when that road narrowed and merged with a road full of trucks coming up behind me. I thought “why can’t cyclists have a heads-up display like Nissan had in their cars in the 90s?” I began looking for a solution but couldn’t find anything that solved the problem.

Then, my sister-in-law got hit by a car while riding her bike and I knew it was time to act.

I began doing research and most people don’t use mirrors because they don’t work well enough. In most cases the blame for most accidents was placed on the cyclist when that just was not the case. The image captured by the camera is wirelessly transmitted to the receiver built into your phone. That image is displayed on the LCD and uploaded to the cloud. If you are riding in an area without a cellular signal, the images will save to your phone and then will be automatically uploaded to the cloud once you have a solid signal. We recommend sharing your cloud storage login information relatives and/or friends should you be in an accident and they need access to the files for law enforcement, doctors or lawyers.

Cyclesight will work with virtually any smart phone. If you've ever watched a video on your phone, you should be able to receive and view the Cyclesight images.

Yes. Using the GPS and accelerometer in your phone, the Cyclesight screen will also display basic cycling statistics, including, speed, distance travelled, and elapsed time of your ride.

Yes. Cyclesight can be configured to automatically send an alert to up to three people if it detects a crash, and you'll have 30 seconds to cancel the alert if everything is ok.
